Some lives don’t follow a straight path. After being born in Germany, my parents moved with me to Saudi Arabia, and then my life continued in Botswana, Zambia, India, Argentina, the UK, and across the world’s oceans. I worked offshore, one of the few women in my field, and for a time, the only German woman in the world working in 4D seismic.
This blog is about those experiences—living abroad, working in international environments, navigating cultures, and the challenges of a career at sea. It’s not a travel guide. It’s a collection of moments, insights, and memories from a life spent moving.
I write fast non-fiction—short snapshots, no more than 500 words. Where fitting, I’ll tie posts to songs that hold meaning for me.
And as always, Esel is here—my ever-present companion, my link to home, and the one constant in an unpredictable world.
If you’ve ever lived between places, worked in unusual environments, or simply wondered what it’s like, welcome aboard.
